who we are.

Burning Vision is a gaming community unlike any you have ever seen before. We are a community built around the casual gamer. Members can join regardless of what games they play and can use the resources that Burning Vision provides (teamspeak, servers, website, forums) to make their gaming experience enjoyable. We provide a place for casual gamers to play and have fun and not have to worry about coming to practices on time or being on for a set number of hours each week. We don't do that, we just play and that is how gaming should be.

how it began.

Burning Vision was founded in July of 2006 by VertigoSFX. He brought with him two of his long time clan mates, Crimson and fearless (who then went by the name Krypt). Vertigo and Crimson worked together to help build the community working to bring in new members to help make their vision a reality. Initially the group opened up with 2 divisions: the Half-Life series (focusing on Counter-Strike: Source) and the Battlefield series (then playing Battlefield 2). These divisions would eventually head the community for quite some time, while many others came and went. It would be wrong to not mention our very first member to join Burning Vision (aside from the initial 3). One night when I was playing a few rounds of GunGame in CSS I started talking to this guy, his name was Mystic, go figure. Eventually, after a few hours of playing I invited him to the team and he accepted. Mystic is still with us today as the first member to join the team.

the growth.

In the beginning of 2007, Burning Vision had grew to about 5 members...not much of a leap. Then things took a turn for the good. Vertigo launched the new website (aka Burning Vision v2) and this new website had a lot of new features including a way to actually display each individual division, the members and the divisions they were associated with and it even included reviews written by the community. We also got busy on recruiting within servers that we could sneak past the admins in so we wouldn't get kicked for recruiting. Not long after a few new members joined in and brought our count up to around 12. Most of these members are still with us today such as retro[12], Greekboy, R.Mohle and more.

This was about the time we started adding a few divisions which soon faded. We tried World of Warcraft and Lineage II, both didn't have enough support behind them to continue. We also opened up to Test Drive Unlimited which was good for a few months until the game itself started to die unfortunately. One good thing did come from the TDU division and that was two valuable members of the community: Koslov and Mihial. Koslov is now one of the co-leaders of the community and finances 3 of the 4 servers. So as you can see he can be an asset or an ass, just depends on the time of day. He and Crimson are like the backbones of this community and help make it continue to grow.

It soon became apparent that we were best with the original two plus one additional one which is now our most successful: Call of Duty 4. Around that peak time for us we managed to get a CSS server online which was a lot of fun because we had it running some GunGame and had a lot of regulars stopping by. But when Call of Duty 4 came along most of us switched over to that and less and less were playing CSS.

In May of 2007 we launched a new division: BV Studios. This would grow to what is today called BV Films and became our machinima films division. To this day we have made about 5 films in Battlefield 2, Battlefield 2142 and Call of Duty 4. It has been fairly successful and we hope to continue making it grow in the future. BV Films is comprised of all the members of Burning Vision and many of them participate in voice acting, in-game acting or script writing.

In the final stretch of 2007 a lot of things happened. We had got a TF2 server which has gone through many phases sometimes being a stock map server and other times being custom only. It has been a lot of fun flying around shooting rockets at each other. We also got a new COD4 server right after the game's release which helped to light a fire under the COD4 division.

the present day.

Today we have 15+ members and continue to grow. We still hold true to the original idea of a casual community. Following that mantra we are a very tight-knit group in which we don't do our own thing, we make many attempts to game with one another.  Our machinima films division is actively working on films to bring to the community and we are slowly building new ideas for future expansion. We no longer have divisions but are strickly a multi-gaming community in which members can join for whatever they want. We are Burning Vision. Redefining the Gaming Community.
