Left 4 Dead Survival Pack Update
Posted by: VertigoSFX - 2009-02-11 19:01:53 - Gaming News - 0 comments
As we all know, we are in need of new content for Left 4 Dead. It is coming...soon...as in this Spring. It was originally announced on February 5th. and should be a pretty awesome collection of stuff.
Today they announced that the pack will be completely and 100% free of charge for both PC and 360 users. This is great news for the console community, not so much for PC because PC people wouldn't have it if there were a price but the 360 guys finally get something for free. Since the announcement of Battlefield 1943 last week, a lot of new information has been released about the game and how it'll work. Even one of the developers, Gustav Hailing, has started up a blog with regular updates about it!
The website "Computer and Video Games" has a new article about a first hands-on playtest of the game for the 360. Keep in mind this game is being released for the PC, 360 and the PS3 and will be DOWNLOAD-ONLY. Click the more link below to read the rest of this post!

Sky Cribs Out Now!
Posted by: VertigoSFX - 2009-02-08 18:28:48 - BV Studios - 0 comments
Our latest production is now available for YouTube streaming and downloading! This video takes us back to the Sandbox Mod in Battlefield 2 with another crib...this time the home of a drug dealer. Our very own Mystic does the voice overs for "Yung Sneezy" and he does them well. We had a lot of fun building this one and putting it all together so we hope you enjoy it. WATCH IT!
Make sure you check back next weekend on the BV Studios site for some exclusive content from this film!
Meet Yung Steezy, he's a drug dealer from the East Side. In this episode of Sky Cribs, we take you to his crib way out in the desert to experience life on the other side of the...desert. Yung Steezy has a three story house complete with the Megatron 3000, indoor basketball court, drug storage room and much more. Yung Steezy is living the high life and you need to take this opportunity to check it out...it isn't that often we can see how the other half lives.
Battlefield 1943: Pacific-BF1942 REMAKE!
Posted by: VertigoSFX - 2009-02-06 23:29:29 - Gaming News - 0 comments

To me, this is probably the greatest news since the announcement of Left 4 Dead. I used to be a huge Battlefield 1942 player, like seriously huge. I logged more hours on that game than any other game (this was before I had xfire). I have so many memories from Battlefield 1942, it was great. Sadly it got phased out after many hours of playing not just 1942 but also mods such as the non-replacable Desert Combat mod.
I had recently been looking back on that game when I discovered an interesting article today. EA/DICE has announced a new kind of Battlefield, redone with the Frostbite engine. Battlefield 1943: Pacific is a condensed version of Battlefield 1942 in a sense. The most notable change is obviously the updated graphic engine. Frostbite is the same engine running Battlefield: Bad Company and the upcoming Bad Company 2. You know what this means...destructible environments. I can't wait.
Battlefield: Heroes Coming Soon!
Posted by: VertigoSFX - 2009-02-04 20:24:18 - Gaming News - 0 comments
We now have word that Battlefield: Heroes may finally be coming...soon. The guys over at 1up.com have picked up some information about the game and it's supposed launch.
Battlefield Heroes, the free-to-play spin-off of DICE's online multiplayer shooter series, should be officially released and opened to all before April, according to Electronic Arts' financial documents. Shacknews picked up on this tidbit, as they noticed the documents show the game is scheduled to launch in this current fiscal quarter, which spans January to March 31. So, assuming the game doesn't see another delay, we should all be able to hop in delightfully cartoony tanks and bombers and blow each other to hell by April.
A good bet would probably put the game's launch toward the end of the quarter, considering the beta only just re-opened at the end of January, but who knows -- with any luck EA will ramp up accessibility to the game sooner rather than later. After all, executive producer Ben Cousins has previously said that as far as they're concerned, the game is "already out," and that was back in August of last year.
This is good news, because this is like 2 months away. I think it'll be fun to play, i've participated in the beta (until my browser was upgraded, then my computer crashed and I lost the login info) but it should be good. Just a matter of time, i'll keep you updated.
BV Pads - Coming Soon

A new machinima from the BV Studios crew is coming soon. This new machinima is in the Battlefield 2 game engine. What is it all about? Well just know it is rated R for drugs and language. Viewer discretion is advised.

Left 4 Dead Update Released
Posted by: VertigoSFX - 2009-01-14 23:19:49 - Gaming News - 0 comments
A brand new Left 4 Dead update was released today. This is the largest update yet and fixes a TON of issues. Some of my favorites include the increased damage of the Hunter and the improved tongue of the Smoker. Sounds like it will really add some much needed gameplay tweaks.
The update should automatically be added upon entry into Steam. Sorry 360 guys, your patch is still being approved by Microsoft. No word yet on the DLC but we should hear from them in the next week or so. Click the more link below to see the full list of changes.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Announced
Posted by: VertigoSFX - 2008-12-03 18:56:28 - Gaming News - 3 comments
Every year Activision comes out with a press release of the likes that tells us their gaming plans for the following year. Last year they announced Guitar Hero 3 and Call of Duty 4. This year they're announcing Guitar Hero 4 and Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2...I wonder if this is going to be a trend?
Anyway, should be interesting, I expected a complete change of pace but it will be cool to have another modern warfare SP campaign. Hopefully they do a nice overhaul to the graphical engine and give us some more engaging multiplayer...and co-op.
Here is a what they say over at ShackNews:
