E3 will be coming our way very soon and with that we'll be hearing a lot of news from all the latest games. One of those games that I'm sure will be a highlight is the upcoming downloadable Battlefield 1943 being made by EA/DICE.
As many of you know, EA/DICE is working on five titles. Battlefield: Heroes which has been in beta for over a year and should be coming public soon. They're also working on Battlefield: Bad Company 2 which will introduce a true single player to the PC. Two other titles are being worked on that we currently have no information about, we just know they're being developed. Then of course there is Battlefield 1943.

1943 is scheduled to be released NEXT MONTH on the PS3, 360 and PC as a downloadable game. The game will feature only three maps but remember it is a cheaper sale. The current price is expected to be about $19.99 (not confirmed). In addition to the three maps which are Guadalcanal, Wake Island and Iwo Jima, we also get three classes: scout, infantry and rifleman. They're trying to keep this a pretty simple game to bring back the excitement that was Battlefield 1942.
Multiplayer will feature 24 players, 12 on each side and levels are expected to last 15-20 minutes, so no need to worry about waiting forever to finish up a game. It is also built around the Frostbite engine which premiered with Battlefield: Bad Company. One of the key features is its destructible environments which means 1943 will carry on with that tradition.
EA has stated that they will be releasing downloadable content after the game is released which means we'll be seeing more maps added as time goes on.
