Crysis: Warhead Reviewed
Posted by: VertigoSFX - 10/25/2008 - Community News - 0 comments
Koslov has just finished the review for Crysis: Warhead, the latest game from Crytek which is essentially an extension of Crysis. Here is an excerpt and click the link below to read the rest!
Crysis Warhead is the side story to Crysis (stating the obvious is just another hidden talent that I like to show off every once in awhile). You follow that one guy lovingly referred to as Jason Stathem, by Yatzhee Croshaw, in his review of the original game. A truly more endearing character than the original protagonist, "Nomad." Sgt "Psycho" Sykes, sounds like one of those stereotypical SAS guys that left Britain for some stupid reason and decided that the US is where the action is. Which would probably hold true to some extent but this story is supposed to take place in the future, so I'm betting that its some sort of NATO task force mostly comprised of US Marines and Rainbow Six Rejects.
Order 227 Community Blog Now Live!
Posted by: VertigoSFX - 10/19/2008 - Community News - 0 comments
Everyone around the community has heard us talking about this for quite sometime. We've had the beta version up for awhile with a pre-made template. This weekend I made a custom Wordpress template for Order 227 and I can proudly say it is up and running.
There are still some bugs to be worked out but for the most part it is running well. This blog is going to be a community blog and a select few people will gain admin access to add new posts. Anyone can comment as long as they put in their name and email. Anyone can also post to the blog by giving the blog admins a writeup which we will then post on the site after edits. Those admins will be posted on the forums later this week.
Update: Divisions Removed
Posted by: VertigoSFX - 09/28/2008 - Community News - 0 comments
Well my computer is finally back in working order and with that I've managed to do the edits to the site I was speaking of before.
I have brought up this issue in the past few weeks to the game admins and we have come to an agreement that it would be best to push the community forward with the removal of the divisions. I've noticed recently that we have been playing a lot of different games and I thought it would be best if we just invite new members to join for whatever game. This way they'll be joining the community as a whole and we won't be as segregated as before.

Hey guys, in case I haven't told you already (which I haven't). BFH will be an official game of BV whether it sucks or not (which I can vouch that it doesn't) since it is part of the Battlefield series it counts.
So anyway I got this cool video I found that shows stuff I'm not allowed to show so ya, check it out!
Battlefield: Heroes Update!
Posted by: VertigoSFX - 08/15/2008 - Gaming News - 0 comments
Well it is partially good news and partially bad news. The good news is we have an update on the BFH status. The bad news is we won't see the game until Winter. Here is a little preview just so you guys can start getting all excited again after the delay :)
"We had the chance to sit down and get into the game again and shoot some of the beta testers (or be shot by them constantly) which gave us plenty of time to notice that tanks aren't as deadly to infantry anymore (and each infantry class comes equipped with something that can take down a tank, like sticky bombs) and aircraft are mainly used for destroying other vehicles. It's also definitely a trip to see the different costumes characters are wearing into combat. Bizarre for sure, but also pretty fun and setting up your character's look is easy as pie in the Flash setup screen before play. Though the level shown at the Showcase was the same one that we've seen at prio events there was some new information courtesy of DICE's Ben Cousins. As many of you undoubtedly know, the game's launch was delayed until later this year. The good news is that this is giving the team plenty of time to fix any problems and iron out any balance issues resulting from the distribution of weapons and MMO-like skills given to each of the character classes."
TF2 Heavy Update Coming Soon
Posted by: VertigoSFX - 08/12/2008 - Gaming News - 0 comments
Team Fortress 2 has a heavy update coming our way. Not only that but they're proud (which makes me excited) to announce that the custom map steel will be made an official map! Check it out.
"Valve has released details on the next character update for Team Fortress 2, the developer's popular class-based first-person shooter. The next character enhancement promises to be the biggest and will feature the Heavy, which is the third character update and follows the Medic and Pyro additions. Unlike the previous updates, Valve will reveal snippets of new information through a six-day unveiling process, via the game's official website. Today's reveal showcases the addition of community map CP_Steel to the game's official map lineup. The level, created by Jamie "Fishbus" Manson, is a complex attack/defend control point map. However, unlike traditional control point maps, CP_Steel opens up new territories when a point is taken, which changes the dynamics of warfare. In total, there are five more upcoming reveals spreading out to Tuesday, August 19, which is the day the update will launch. Players can expect three new unlockable weapons, 35 Heavy-specific achievements, a new game mode with five new maps for it, a new Payload map, and more. Valve will post all of this information and new screens throughout the week and will debut a special installment of the "Meet the Team" series of video shorts."
Website is Live!
Posted by: VertigoSFX - 08/08/2008 - Community News - 0 comments
The brand new Burning Vision website is now live! After much hard work we have finally upgraded from version 2.0 to version 3.0. This new version has a ton of new features. The main site is entirely coded in XHTML and CSS. The site before this was coded with primarily HTML and had a lot of code that wasn't functional at all. The new XHTML/CSS combo makes the site faster to load and more efficient plus it allows me to create more network sites to expand the community easier.

Burning Vision is a casual online gaming community created in July of 2006. Over the years we have grown to be an active multi-gaming community and news portal. We believe that gamers should be able to play when they want and what they want and we are the place to do that. Stop by our forums, introduce yourself and join!
