who we are

BV Studios is a group of casual gamers part of the Burning Vision Gaming Community. BV Studios was started because of our love for movies and how easy and fun it is to make machinima films. We basically come up with an idea and run with it, developing a story (if there is one), filming it, editing it and producing it for the masses. What is a machinima film you ask? A machinima film is essentially a film produced within a 3D engine, in this case, a video game engine. So that is what we're creating, we won't be making a living out of it but it is something fun to do on a Saturday afternoon or whenever we find the time to put a project together.

the history

Our HistoryIt all started in 2006. VertigoSFX came across a guy named netwalker looking to get some people together for a film he wanted to do in Battlefield 2142. This wasn't long after the formation of Burning Vision and very soon after the release of Battlefield 2142. I started talking a bit in the thread and joined his production team. He setup a production name entitled "netwalker productions" and I offered up some webspace in return for a partnership with Burning Vision. He later joined the team and to this day remains on the team when he can. The first two films produced under the name "netwalker productions" were Operation: OMFG and Operation: dubya-tee-eff. These films receieved great feedback from the community and the idea to do a episodic series arose. One episode was produced but it never went beyond that. Real life stuff started to get in the way and some changes were needed to the filming back on its feet.

The decision was made to call ourselves BV Studios now that netwalker wasn't around as much and the community itself was growing. Our next film was with netwalker and it was the premiere film for BV Studios. A few films followed including our biggest project, Call of Stupidity. It really wasn't a huge undertaking but it was a our first semi-scripted story so we were proud of it. We got some pretty good reviews out of that film so it was a success. We now have several projects in the making and will continue to find ways to make films that are true to the BV name.
